Full Metal Jackets
Bullets that are encased by a metal shell are said to be fully jacketed. Bullets that are not fully jacketed have a large portion of the soft core uncovered. A bullet that is termed as having a full metal jacket is encased on all sides by metal. The metal shell surrounds a soft core bullet that is made of lead or some other soft metal compound Full metal jackets take much more force to fire considering the heaviness of the outer casing. In most cases, they also contain more gunpowder due to the force it takes to extract the bullet from the shell.
Full metal jackets are able to penetrate both hard and soft surfaces. They can be fired through walls to hit targets on the other side. Their metal jacketing protects the bullet and propels it through the harder surface with less damage. Because of the length of the jacket and how much of the bullet remains encased in metal, they do less damage than magnums or hollow point rounds. They may be slightly more accurate because they retain their original shape longer but, even with a direct hit, the damage they cause is substantially less than with a bullet that has regular jacketing.
Full metal jacket bullets are able to travel longer distances and still retain a high level of accuracy. The military uses full metal jackets for most of their training and during combat missions due to the bullets ability to travel several meters and still retain its accuracy. Full metal jackets can be purchased from websites where people can Guns For Sale. Full metal jackets are moderately priced. If you have any questions concerning accuracy, you will need to talk to a gunsmith to determine which bullet is right for you.
