Thefts from Ice Houses in New Hampshire
Each winter there are many people who get out to fish in the very cold weather and even though finding fish entails sitting in a specially designed house that sits on the ice while fishing through a hole that’s been cut through the frozen water, many people love the peaceful setting of fishing on the ice each winter and will take their Branson Missouri fishing trip when it’s the coldest part of the year. But there is word from ice fishermen in New Hampshire that there has been someone breaking into the houses they use for ice fishing and it has put local residents on edge.
The thefts occurred in the town of Tuftonboro, New Hampshire and local ice fishermen and people who are involved with the fish and game department in the state have been looking carefully into whether anyone was spotted around the area employing suspicious behavior before the thefts happened. One local fisherman said that a thief took some fishing gear that had been a part of his equipment for over three decades.
He also said that he’d lived in the area for his entire life and that he’d never been the subject of any break in before. He’d also gone so far as to place a sign on his front lawn displaying his outrage regarding the thefts. Another fisherman said that everyone in the area feels as though something has been taken from the community overall and that the thefts have negatively impacted the positive spirits of fishermen in the area.
